Welcome!
“It’s not brain surgery...”
“It’s not rocket science…”
Welcome to the Cognitron Cognitive Testing Website. The aim of this study is to compare the intelligence scores of neurosurgeons and space engineers and to establish, once and for all, whether the phrases “it’s not rocket science” and “it’s not brain surgery” stand up to scientific scrutiny.
You will complete a series of cognitive tasks will test your memory, reasoning, planning, social and emotional cognition abilities to the limit. This study is brought to you by University College London and Imperial College London.
The Cognitron Intelligence Test will run a series of short tasks lasting between approximately 1 and 4 minutes each. The whole set of tests should run in under 25 minutes.
After completing a brief questionnaire, you will see a summary of how you performed relative to individuals in who have previously performed the tests.
The aim of the website is to collect information to better understand how results from the different memory, reasoning, concentration and planning tasks vary in people who identify as neurosurgeons and those who identify as space engineers. By taking part in the study, you are consenting to your data being used to assist in research into neuroscience and cognition. This study is brought to you by University College London and Imperial College London. Responsibility and access rights to your data are the responsibility of University College London. Anonymized data, (i.e. not including personally identifiable information such as location, name or contact details) may be used as the foundation to follow up analysis and studies by researchers.
